Greetings Dear Readers;
.
Hope you are well.
Here's a Principle for you....let's give it a look.
.
'What goes up must come down' or 'Watch those peaks, they become valleys.'
There are a couple of different contexts that could be explored....however the one in focus today is that of ourselves. When we get too high for anything there will be an equal or opposite low.
We say to ourselves ...'Let's have a good time.'...not really thinking about any negative ramifications...we say a hearty 'yes' to that good time. The particular example in focus is ...'Stimuli'....in the sense of exhilaration. Emotional ups cause emotional downs.
The Greeks had a way of saying it...translated...'Too much good time.' To this day some Italian Grandmothers have been known to say the same thing when the little ones are fussy after a fun-filled day out.
The key to having a good time without the repercussions is restraint, stability, even common sense. Learning to pace yourself, knowing your limitations and applying them.
Shall we give this Principle a think.
Wishing you and yours all the best....God's best!
.
Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me'. John 14.6
It is faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life.

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

Really enjoyed this reflection... your way of connecting life principles with everyday experiences is both grounding and insightful. The reminder about balance and restraint really resonated with me.
Thanks for sharing this wisdom along with your beautiful photography and art.
Greetings @curamax ,
Appreciate hearing your thoughts articulated regarding the principle.
Thank you for your kind complimentary words. ^__^

Some wonderful lines to read dear @bleujay friend!... But it's always like that when you write, because you do it from the soul, it seems to me... And I loved that very colloquial Greek way of saying: "Too much good time" 😀... And how I would hear myself hearing it said by an Italian grandmother, who by the way are very expressive and eloquent! 😂...
Beautiful roses, beautiful photos, beautiful composition with the apples and the dahlia, just like your watercolor, a bit cryptic and magical at the same time... Thanks for sharig, have a blessed weekend!!!

Greetings @jlinaresp ,
You are too kind. Appreciate hearing how the post comes across in your prose style of writing. Thank you.
Writing is not Bleujay's easiest form of expression...so you really are reading a delivery that hopefully reads as one would hear if I were speaking to you.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the illustration of the Italian Grandmother...a personal account from a dear friend when we both had little ones which has not been forgotten...it rang so true. I found out later the Greeks used it as well.
Thank you for dropping by for a cuppa. ^__^
Kindest Regards to you and your family...and 19 pets.

Wow those blooms are fantastic and you have captured their depth & detail so well!
So many context we could explore with your truth. I love the underlying balance of it and have been thinking about so many things in terms of yin and yang lately.
Because I run a business in a small town, things are challenging and rewarding which is the name of the entrepreneur game. When things go up, or are doing very well with new client growth for example, I regulate my decisions knowing that things correct down inevitably. Further to that, I can get ahead of the downturn by pouring extra effort into growth before the downturn.
In contrast, the inevitable dips in revenue can be tough but knowing that things go back up again. When they seem not to be heading in the right direction, a little effort and track record of success come through and correct it. Just don’t quit.
This concept helps with crypto investment too knowing that crypto goes /, then it goes , then it goes / again!
Greetings @zekepickleman ,
All so true....yes...all that and more...and 'yin and yang' came to mind as well. I nearly served a fruit salade ...as this Truth is quite broad in its application. ^__^
Appreciate your lovely...in depth comment.
To be sure, Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. Press On.
In the Art Sphere...they say...Just 'Show Up'...same thought Just 'Don't Quit!
Cryptos...unpredictable, capture of the imagination, freedom rich atmosphere has not lost its 'glisten' (Shakespeare) for Bleujay...thank you for the smiles.
Kind Regards, Bleujay
I must have learned this what goes up must come down lesson, because I am a master at pacing myself. I never hurry anymore, I take the time to be ready long before I have to be ready. I give myself loads of down time, just musing while the world turns. When there's a lot to do, I do it steadily. I don't take on too much. Perhaps all these principles are learned over time, and the hard way.
Greetings @owasco ,
Lovely to hear from you.
So true...the Principles are nuggets of Truth, Gems really, that put into a few words...life's lessons we have learned along the way.
Though I have used Principles in the upbringing of little ones...they probably will not resonate until encountered in life....having said that...films have a lovely way of illustrating Principles...ie. Matrix, Master and Commander, Man without a Face. Circle...etc.
Thank you for dropping by with your lovely reply. ^__^

I wished at least the Hive price would go up from time to time, before it comes down again, hehe! 😊
The photos of the different flowers and the painting are outstanding again, @bleujay!
Greetings @gen-quimba ,
You know it! Wishing well wishes...hoping for the best. ^__^
Appreciate your kind words regarding the Icing....thank you!

I came for the painting, stayed for the photographs, and learned from the principle ... C.S. Lewis described this in The Screwtape Letters as the Principle of Oscillation, and so I learned it in a slightly different way combined with his writing of it in his fictional Space Trilogy (being far younger than expected to be reading any of that): peaks and valleys are waves, and therefore not permanent ... if you are in one, get ready for the next, because no state is permanent. Newton came along later with opposite and equal reactions ... so that naturally, there are highs and lows that will always succeed each other. C.S. Lewis also added the warning in fiction that gets to your way of looking at this: do not despise the natural, common grace enjoyments seeking just the highs.
"Too much good time" explains a lot of things ... too high a high means a long dropoff and a harder landing. There are, however, some subtleties to this ... as someone who has experienced intense grief, it is sometimes necessary to think of this the other way: to get through the valleys, one has to know there will be a balance, that at some great joy will be known again. And, even further: there are some who will seek to avoid peaks in order to avoid valleys, and this too can become unnatural.
Of course, C.S. Lewis, you, and I have something in common: we trust the Master of the sea, Who will let no storm rage too long, and binds night by day, and day by night, and Who is with us through whichever or peak or valley He chooses for us. We can be content and be grateful in His choice along the journey. This is one of the reasons I have become a decent photographer of nature ... reminding myself daily of the beautiful common grace blessings all along the way.
Greetings Dear @deeanndmathews ,
What a lovely, meaningful, well-written comment....Thank you so much.
C.S. Lewis is a favourite...In an interview...he once said..."I see people in two categories....Saved and Unsaved.' (paraphrased) A comment that has never left me.
You have reminded me of the phrase...'Get ahead of the Wave.'
Your response to the post....So true...and well said.
Yes...I trust Him...God knows best. Psalm 23.
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
The Great Divorce is something else I read way, way, way too young to understand what C.S. Lewis was saying then ... but eventually, those two categories will be all that is left, and he also wrote in different ways in the last books in the Narnia set and Space Trilogy that if you pay attention, you would see over time that more and more and more separation is already occurring and even that in history, things that once could be excused as thought of as working together cannot any more (echoing the Apostle Paul, Who said in Acts 17 that "in times past, God overlooked the ignorance of men, but now He commands men everywhere to repent").
"Get Ahead of the Wave" comes up a lot ... investing ... marketing ... planning all kinds of things ... summer and winter, springtime and harvest ... we get to know how to work these things until "every valley shall be exalted, and every rough place made plain" and until "there shall be no night there, for the Lamb is the light of it." Your principle touches a lot of things!
There are many similar expressions in Turkish, dear @bleujay. Every rise is followed by a fall, of course. We experience this many times in life. That's why we must remember to be humble when we rise high, and remember that we will rise again when we fall.
Greetings @incublus ,
Thank you for the smiles and the lovely reminder. ^__^

Common Sense!! That OLD notion!! 😂
Just kidding, but there is a lot of people missing that these days it seems.
Gravity.... the real kind and the mental kind. You have to keep your feet on the ground sometimes, even when you want to fly off with too much of a good thing.
I enjoyed your post.
That white flower looks like it could be made out of crepe paper. Beautiful!
Greetings Jacey,
Thank you for your kind, wise complimentary reply.
So true...it is an interesting moment when you consciously have to make the decision to not go with the flow.
They do look like tissue paper...perhaps they would be easier to render in Collage....as for drawing...well...I have one half drawn. ^__^

Ahhh yes...'A tag'...it is a colloquialism for the mention of someone's handle/nickname/name that grabs their attention...something like that. ^__^

You are correct, pacing yourself is the only way to live. Stimuli overload is never good for the mind although they may be fun at the moment it catches up to you in the end. I live a much slower paced life now that when I was younger, it was fun at the time but not anymore!
Beautiful flowers by the way!
Greetings @thebighigg ,
Very kind of you to drop by..appreciate your lovely comment...So true.

Thank you for dropping by....happy to hear your thoughts with regard to the post.
(The key to having a good time without the repercussions is restraint, stability, even common sense.) I completely agree with this phrase which sums up the concept you're explaining. Exaggerations are NEVER good. In fact, when they happen, the downturns become more intense. Moderation is key, and I would add patience.
I wish you a happy Thursday.
Greetings @lupega ,
What a lovely comment...so true. Thank you for dropping by.
