The Birth Of The Lord Jesus ~ MCGI Topic Review.

I might have not read the whole Bible but with my research and knowledge I have about the Bible, there is no single verse in the Bible that shows or tells us that the first-century Christians celebrated the birth of the Lord, Jesus Christ just as how we do it now.

It’s not a bad idea to celebrate Christmas. As a matter of fact, it feels good to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ, our savior but this doesn’t mean that it is Biblical.
There are so many things that we do which isn’t Biblical and celebrating the birth of Christ is one of them. This doesn’t mean that it means something bad or awful.

Even his parents, Mary and Joseph never celebrated his birthday or even threw a loud party for him or on his behalf.
The thing they only did which was recorded in the Bible was that they go to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of the passover.

In I Corinthians 11:26, the Bible says; For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come.

So we are meant to celebrate the death of Jesus Christ and not his birth. This means that we have been doing opposite of what we should do since all these days. Why should we celebrate the death of Jesus? He died for our sins. That meant that our sins are washed away and we are free from every kind of sin.

In Ecclesiastes 7:1, the Bible says; A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.

Compare them and you’ll see that Jesus Christ’s death is better than his birth. If we really want to celebrate our Lord Jesus, we should celebrate his death.
