Staying Healthy With Medical Checkups.
I remember some years ago when I thought I was having a serious malaria. I went to the nearest pharmacy to get some malaria drugs, and I kept on using it for three days to the point that I could not stand up from my bed anymore.
My friends then realized that I have not been stepping outside of my hostel so they decided to come check on me, but they found me laying sick on my bed and rushed me to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, I was diagnosed for appendicitis and the operation needed to be done as soon as possible.
I immediately called my parents and told them what was happening.
Luckily, I am from a well to do home and my mom rushed to the hospital in two hours, paid for the surgery to be done and it was done on the next day. This is just how important medical check ups can be. I could’ve actually gone to the hospital the first day when I was having that symptom, but I did not and that costed us to pay more money for the surgery and for extra treatment for me to be stable.
One thing I learned is that we do not have to be ill or feel sick before we decide to go for a medical check up. Sometimes, we realize that when we eat some particular meals we fall sick or when we work too much we get tired very quick. This kind of situation is supposed to prompt us to visit the hospital for a medical checkup. It’s not a must for us to collapse before doing the needful.
Having your regular medical check ups helps you to be familiar with your body and to know what your body can take and what it cannot. That was the time I realized that medical checkups are very important and it goes a long way in making us healthy.
The truth is, I do not go for medical check ups monthly, but I always make sure that if I’m having the slightest sick symptom, I dash to the hospital.
That's a good one. Honestly, I hardly visit the hospital, I don't even like visiting someone in the hospital, but you are right, regular medical check up would make us get more familiar with our body system
I barely visit the hospital as well but since that sickness, I’ve learned to visit the hospital
That's good...as the saying goes "prevention is better... .
When it is detected on time it will cost you less, but if it's late then it will cost even more.
