Recognizing A Good Chorus.

There was a time when I switched to different music channels, all they played was a particular song which I was avoiding.
Then, when I switch to another channel, it’s still that song. Eventually, I was forced to watch the music video and listen to the song so that’s how I learned the lyrics.

Sometimes, when we keep listening to a song, we get to know the lyrics and when the artiste is audible with the lyrics, the listeners tend to be very familiar with the song that they can find singing along to the song very easy to do.

This shows the benefit of singing audibly. As an artiste, when you are audible in your songs and when you pronounce your words well, people will get very familiar with your songs fast.
The first part of a song which people get familiar with the most is the chorus part. This is why the chorus part has to be very easy, audible and pronounced well. If you are very familiar with music, you will realize that there are some particular actors who are very good at singing the chorus part and this is why they continue to have more and more features in different songs.

Also, the chorus part is usually the most interesting part of the song because that’s what catches the attention of every listener and if anyone ever wants to know a part of a song, the chorus part goes first.
This is why it has to be interesting and simple but that doesn’t mean that other parts of the song wouldn’t be interesting.

Well, not all artistes are talented with singing the chorus part. I’m used to Nigerian music and a few artistes who I know are good with the chorus part of a song are Wizkid, Rema, Fireboy and Tems. You may check out their songs including their features to check the chorus that they have sang.

And, when some people want to define a good music, they start from the chorus. A good music has a good and interesting chorus.
When an artiste is having a show, the chorus part is the part where people sing along to the most. If you watch concerts, you’ll see that when a song gets to the chorus part, that is when the audience will make their voice loud and they all will sing along to it because it is the most interesting part of the song.

Some features of a good chorus is that a chorus has to be catchy. Many times, hearing the chorus is what brings back the listener to listen to the whole song.

Secondly, a good chorus has to be short and precise. I have even noticed that many choruses have just four lines aside from the bridge. It doesn’t necessarily have to be four lines but just make it short, simple and precise.

Lastly, a good chorus is one which everyone can sing along to. If you can’t vibe to a chorus, it means it isn’t good enough and the artiste needs to work better and harder on the song.
