My Addiction To Virtual Reality.

I remember the good old days when I’d sneak into my mama’s room to take her phone and play games or do other things online. But, I noticed something. I noticed the kind of body pain that I get after pressing my phone for so long and is as a result of maintaining a body posture.

And look at the world where we find ourselves. Virtual reality is now everywhere. At first, I felt it wasn’t worth the hype because I had some expectations in my head but later on, virtual reality went beyond the expectation.

Let’s talk about meetings. Virtual reality has made it easy for us to create virtual meeting space, and have remote interactions. It’s really helpful. Instead of having physical meetings which may take more time and cost us more transport fare, virtual reality makes it good.

Virtual reality aims at making life easier for us. People learn online these days and even get certified for it. That’s not all, there are VR games that looks so good. They look as good as true. I’m glad that VR exists in this world because it has gone a long way for us.

But, everything has its effects. I think the problem is how we adapt and make use of everything that comes our way. As good as VR is, it has caused some problems for mankind. I feel this isn’t its fault. It’s due to how we adapt it and so much depend on it.

Firstly, depending too much on VR leads to eye strain. I’m a victim and that’s what led me to using glasses today. As we know, VR is basically about our screen and looking at the screen too much tells bad on the eye.

Addiction is another risk. For real, there was time when I got addicted to my phone, VR to be precise. I found it hard to detach from it and engage in something else. I press my phone while walking and that led to almost a major accident. That was my greatest lesson and snatched me from the addiction to VR.

A lot of people talk bad about VR but as long as it aims at doing us good and making life easy for us, we should monitor its usage and adaptation.

Also, I believe that it will continue to thrive and progress. We need it. We need it to learn. We need it for fun. We need it for games and others. Why not let’s manage its adaptation and we will benefit from its advantage.

Those days when you wait for mom to sleep just so you can take her phone and enjoy yourself before returning the phone, now technological advancements will not even let you do that as there is way more things to keep yourself engage with.
