Is It Biblical For Christians To Pay Tithes? (Prt1/2) ~ MCGI Topic Review.
Even though I have not read every part of the Bible, I have not read the part where Jesus Christ asked people to gather some money maybe for the gospel that he preaches or for the good works that he does. It was never stated in the Bible neither excluded nor whatever it is.
The Gospel is meant to be preached freely to people. Even the littlest money which may serve as a payment should never be made. For the pastors, God has never asked you people to collect money or use the Gospel as a means of retrieving money.
In the doctrine of the Gospel, you do not have to pay for anything.
II Corinthians 11:7 says; Have I committed an offense in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
What does this imply? It says “freely” which means that right from time or right from the onset, pastors, disciples or apostles never collected any money from people and from history or from the Bible, they were never asked to do so. Payment is different from tithe.
When it comes to tithe, tithes are meant to be paid. Or let me put it this way, tithes are paid in the Bible.
Hebrews 7:9 says; And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, paid tithes in Abraham.
Tithes is not something to give. When we say tithes, it means paying. Tithe means that we are paying. We pay tithes and not give tithes.
Back in the days of the Israelites in the Bible, whether you like it or not, you have to pay tithes. That was how it was done back in those days. Then, the paid the tithes to the Levites according to the Bible.
That was not all. The Levites or the family of Levi were the ones who were meant to be collecting tithes but in the Bible, the Gospel is always free.
