Is It Biblical For Christians To Pay Tithe? ~ MCGI Topic Review.

Paying for gospel is not right because gospel is meant to be free for everybody and for people who are interested in it. I know there may be pastors somewhere who ask people to pay after he gives his sermon, this is not good and God never supports this act because gospel and salvation is free.

If you have familiar with the doctrines of the gospel of Christ, you will know that you are not meant to pay for anything. So, any pastor who asks you to pay for Gospel is just making money from his church members.

II Corinthians 11:7, KING JAMES VERSION says;
Have I committed an offense in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

We have to be heavy on the word freely here. As we all know, the Bible is the book of the Lord which simply means that anything which is written here is said by the Lord.

If God can tell pastors to give sermons for free, why do some pastors then collect money from their church members.

There is a clear difference between church members willingly giving you money and you asking them to pay for the sermon that you have just preached. That doesn’t make sense at all.

Well, I know you may remember the story of Levi’s family that collected tithes from people. That’s because God has asked them to collect tithes from people but your pastors are not from the Levi’s family so where is the tithe collection coming from?

I think what they did was misread the Bible. Sermon is for free but you can actually decide to give your pastor money out of your will and not because you are paying for his sermon or his gospel.

Every giving unti God should not be done grudgingly but with a cheerful heart.
