How Should Christians Practice Meditation? ~ MCGI Topic Review.
If Christians want to practice meditation, we should understand that it is the law of the Lord and not the law of humans. This is why meditation in the biblical meaning is known as the law of the Lord.
A lot of people do not know the meaning of meditation, but it is the one given to us by God, which is proved or said in the book of Psalms in the Bible.
If we open our Bible to the book of Psalms 1:2-3, it says; But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
This is the absolute meditation which shows our relationship with God. And it says that the delight of the Lord is in the law of the Lord but not of men so everything has to be in the Lord and has to do with the Lord. In other words, it centers all around the Lord and not man.
A lot of people think meditation in the biblical meaning talks about how to sit down appropriately, how to make money or out to eat well. That is not it, but it talks about how to build a relationship with God in order to satisfy him.
If we check out the book of Titus 1:14 in the Bible, it says; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
While meditating, you think about how you want to please and satisfy God. You think about how to act according to his ways and that is how to meditate as a Christian, and not thinking about something.
Meditation is deep interaction with Gods word. It is not just reading the bible
Meditation is a means of knowing God, through a deep knowledge of His word.
We should meditate on the Word of God
