Detour when we talk about detail what comes to mind changing route changing direction sometimes life takes a drastic change and we find ourselves in places that we never planned for unforeseen circumstances happens too so let's get right into our story for today.

Have you ever found yourself in university settings when you actually plan to study a particular course and maybe somewhere along the line something goes wrong maybe due to finance or not being able to meet up to the criteria you have to drop or change your course of study.

That is clearly what's our story talks about today.
In one of the famous universities in Abia state Abia state university uturu. A young lady named Xena got admission to study medicine and surgery she was just 16 when she got into school .

That was our first time staying away from home and it wasn't easy for her to settle in into school well finally she was able to settling into school she stay in the school hostels and started up her lectures her 100 level was kind of stressed free trying to make friends and get acquainted with the environment.

She encountered a lot of challenges her father got sick along the line he had partial stroke and most of the time she had to come back to take care of him over the weekend because it was just her and her mom she's the only daughter so he was going fine and her family are people who believed that education is very important they really wanted the other to be a medical doctor and that is also what she had passion for but life happens sometimes.

It's all started off when they got to 200 level and they did a very tall screening after that screening the list of people who were to move to 200 level was published and she was among them she was really happy that the I should rejoice with her family and her fellow students.

Fast forward to the time of the exam a lot of reading was going on actually read a lot combining it we traveling back home every weekend to see her dad and to help her mom in taking care of her dad going to hospital appointments .

Well why she was preparing she got distracted along the line she always needed her weekend to prepare well and read with her reading group in school well the days for the exam came around and he started off with the school fees rush she found out that they all needed to have their school fees receipts with them before they could be allowed to enter the hall to write them before the enter the exam hall to write the exam has school fees was running late because most of the money they had have gone into her father's medical bills but somehow the managed to get the money and they paid then she took the exam.

Mind you the cut-off mark for this exam was supposed to be 70 but unfortunately she got 41 she didn't want to lose hope then she decided to try again the next year and she got way past the cut off Mark let's say she got 80 and the result that was supposed to come out that's in the didn't come out he took a week a lot of manipulations have gone down and she did not make it her broke her like never before the next day she got a call that her dad passed away the world was almost coming to an end for her.

But she had to braise up herself and apply for a change of course switching from medicine and surgery to public health he was more like degrading you know but it was the right thing it was just her and her mom burial plans were already ongoing and well life continuous.

Sometimes we have our life all plans out but things naturally change and they don't work out the way we plan them out to that is when we have a U-turn or we do a detour in our life plans.

Well today xena is a certified public health officer all thanks to the detour that you have to take from medicine and surgery to public health.
