The day started early with a bike ride, making the most of the cool morning before the heat set in and claimed the hours ahead. By midday, the air had turned thick and relentless, pressing down on everything in its path. I spent the hottest part of the day indoors, waiting out the swelter in quiet retreat. As evening finally arrived and the temperatures eased, I slipped back outside to unwind in the garden, grateful for the relief and the simple calm of twilight settling over the plants.
