Going strong. My Actifit Diary: April 8 2026
I didn’t even get to bed too early yesterday, and yet I woke up full of energy. The whole thing of not drinking coffee after noon is really helping a lot. And so is the non-alcohol rule on week days. My sleep quality seems to be improving still. Formerly, I went to bed at 9pm, now it’s 10pm and I still wake up the same time – and with more energy.

Day was regular, some good pumping at the gym, mostly arms today. I’m trying to get up to 30kg on the bar for the biceps, but it’s still only 8 repetitions and the last 3 with too much body swinging. But the 25kg are good now, 12 repetitions with no body swinging. I’ll get there. Everything takes time. Maybe the focus on more protein rich food and less starches will help with muscle development. And if not – no harm done. I’ve been happy with my body forever. I just enjoy testing limits.

I didn’t get too much work done, but enough. Ellie came for lunch with her brother and a client of theirs, a designer from Manta who’s really high up their and wants to work with their art for a new collection. I joined them for lunch in our backyard (where we have a restaurant), and it was quite pleasant. Daniel’s good is always outstanding.

In the afternoon I met with a friend. She’s in a similar situation as I – just the other way around. Her ex is a dead beat, and threatening to take her kids to China (where he’s from), wanting custody and such. I like to talk to her because she can always give me the other side of the story, other perspectives. And I guess the other way around, too. I tell her how I feel as a father. Not because Lily’s mom is like her or I’m like her ex, but just because it helps to develop a feeling for the other side.

I got a new piece for irrigation at the bakery/restaurant. I had a disperser, but it was too strong for the clay walls that we have on one side. And those walls are beautiful, so I don’t want to harm them. So I got a nice and easy sprinkler, nothing fancy, and it has to be moved around regularly. But that’s fine. It does the job. It’s been dry for too long, and I’m worried about the reserves in the hydroelectric plants. I hope we won’t have another round of power cuts. Maybe it’s time to get some solar panels…
So far for today! Have a good night!
