I enjoyed Growing up in my home

Some people will say they never enjoyed the family they grew up with because there was no love, care and concern, some perfer staying out late because they don't find it fun to meet with family members.

My story is quit different from those people out there, yes I grew up in a very poor family where it's not always easy to eat good food, for years we didn't have a good place to lay our head, we hardly wear good clothes but the financial condition of my family never affected the atmosphere of the family, people around always ask what gives us happiness even tho we were poor and barely have basics things to survive.

One thing stands out, my father as the head of the family did a perfect job in teaching us that happiness should not be about how much we have rather true happiness will come up if we are always grateful for whatever we have, even if we have noting we should be grateful for life.

Every night my father will come outside and sit with us while my mom prepares food, when the food is getting ready my father will start dancing and all of us will join him and dance so much, there was no sad moment in our house, when we are done eating my mother will tell us stories and they are always funny stories that will make us laugh so loud that neighbors will start wondering what's going on.
Every Saturday the whole family will go out for the ministry and my father will make sure we are comfortable and happy, coming back in the afternoon he will buy groundnut and sugar for garri, we all we deep hand in same bowl and eat, yes He's our father but he never make us scared of him, he was always available for us.

Some evenings when mum is not making dinner she will have a dancing competition with my father, yes life was too difficult but we never felt it so much because my family where there to show us love and concern.

Yes my parents are aged but I will always long to travel home and spend time with them because they will always make you see that happeness is not dependant on how much you own.

I enjoyed my growing up and will always appreciate my parents for their care, love and concerns, till date I cherish them.
