There are too many variables in this simple phrase and the contents of the glass which is only half full, play an important role in this.

For philosophers half a glass is a reason to reflect on this half-fullness and try to figure out whether the glass is half empty or half full.

Therefore if there is only a third of water in the glass, or three quarters it can no longer be called either empty or full and a couple of drops of liquid to the left or to the right no longer matters.

I remember the time when in the summer season you could see yellow barrels on wheels all over the city and huge queues of people wanting to buy kvass, beer, or must.

If you don't know something must is fermented grape juice that can no longer be called juice but it's not wine either.

So, the sellers of these drinks managed to deceive customers by having a lot of foam in the glasses and goblets and in fact these glasses were half full or half empty.

You can deceive yourself if you come to a cafe with your own large cup and ask to pour a portion of coffee into it as this gentleman apparently did and his cup or plastic cup was half full.

We will probably never know what flowers think about those moments when we put them in a glass or vase that is not filled to the top with water and whether they consider us scroungers who are stingy with a few extra drops of water on a beautiful flower lol.

But, flowers are forced to be content with this for sure because it is better than nothing!
