Atlassian was born from a credit card-funded bet by two Australian university grads who just wanted to match a corporate salary without working for anyone else. Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar founded the company in 2002, straight out of the University of New South Wales, with the modest goal of replicating the $48,500 graduate starting salary typical at big corporations. They're now known as "accidental billionaires" — that modest salary goal turned into a $71+ billion softwa
