It's not entirely on topic as it's not about finance, but I find the "WEll that worked out better than I expected" tends to wards things like cooking new stuff or doing artwork I was feeling uneasy about.
It is also quite true we don't really talk about thinks that weren't losses but also weren't great wins either. Where the biggest loss was that you perhaps could have invested that money into something better and gotten a better return.

I would have to agree with that! Particularly when it comes to cooking and trying new recipes.
Perhaps I notice mediocre results more than many because I guess I end up running on ”hopium” a lot at the time. And when you keep hoping for improvement and it never comes it actually becomes pretty exhausting after a while.
