My Earnings Decreased On January —  Here’s My Report

It turns out that January was still a productive month for me as a writer after posting 13 posts in total.

I still have the same strategy for my content distribution.

At first, I published everything on my website, then wrote and shared it on Hive and Medium for traffic. I also do this to drive new users to Hive and Medium by inviting my readers to join.

One of the best things about this strategy is that I can maximize my earnings from my content and widen my reach to my readers.

Here are my earnings for the month of January…

Website

I just started monetizing my website through Google AdSense last December, and January was a blast after driving massive traffic to my website from a single post.

In January, I managed to earn over $5 from ads, which was a bit unexpected because I never thought I would gain so much traffic.

The traffic came from Medium after writing a viral post about using ChatGPT as my writing editor. I think this niche will continue to drive more traffic because it is AI-related.

I don’t want to fully rely on other platforms for traffic, so I might focus on SEO next time.

I will continue monitoring my website’s progress and try different ways to drive traffic and earn from Google AdSense.

Medium

Speaking of Medium, I earned over $160 in December, but it seems that everything is falling apart for Medium this month.

The platform seems to be struggling financially, and the CEO is now “running it like a business.” Well, it is a business after all, and they now compensate writers very little.

This month, I only earned $19.54, which is a huge difference compared to December.

This is despite writing a viral post, from which I only made $8 from 2.3k reads and 4.3k views. That was a bit disappointing for me. If everything had been fine, I should have earned around $30 for this post, or maybe more!

Despite that, I still choose to stay on the platform and give it another chance in February. However, I am still deciding whether to buy another subscription for a member account.

Hive

I am seeing improvement on Hive this month by getting more upvotes from big users.

I always love Hive for being transparent and promoting “free speech.” Well, this is what Web 3.0 and decentralization mean.

For this month, I earned a total of $22.30 from author rewards and $3.77 from curation rewards, leaving me with a total of $26.07 in earnings for January.

It was a little lower compared to last month, but I don’t feel much of a difference in my earnings.

Writing on Hive has just become a hobby for me, so I don’t mind my earnings that much (but heck, who wouldn’t love higher earnings, right?).

I still want to focus on other aspects of Hive to earn more, like trading and saving from my HBD savings.

I will talk more about this in my next posts!

Overall, I had a lot of ups and downs in January, and I keep working on it to earn more this month. I always want to contribute to the community by providing valuable content, and I hope it will be worth it in the long term.

My focus is to write more content while driving more traffic. I have a strategy in mind, but I will keep working on it — I am always busy though, haha.

More earnings in February!
