I was curious to know what money is, how it came about, its history, and why it exists. Let me tell you, it's a fascinating story, which is why I decided to share it with you.

Imagine you are very hungry and want to eat an arepa at the school cafeteria. The woman who sells them won't accept a drawing you made in class or a hug; she only accepts coins or bills. Because money is the resource she knows she can use later to buy flour at the supermarket and make arepas. It's the way all merchants understand how to buy goods.
Another fascinating story about how money came about can be illustrated as follows: let's suppose I make some nice drawings of the characters from Splinterlands and Holozing, and the lady at the bar makes delicious black bean and cheese arepas. But since she doesn't appreciate my art, she's not interested in my drawings. To be able to eat her arepas, I have to give her something she's interested in, which in this case is money. I would have to find someone to buy my drawings for money so I could buy the arepas from the lady at the bar.
This is how money emerged long ago when transactions were made with various objects or foodstuffs. As time has passed, this system has evolved through the following formats: barter, commodity money, minted coins, fiat money, and finally, electronic and digital money.
As society has advanced, so has money.
Before, money consisted of things that were exchanged, like cocoa beans or gold coins. Later, it became paper bills that you could fold up and put in your pocket. But today, money has evolved so much that it has gone from being something physical to something digital, like a card, a bank account, or even digital assets (like the ones you use in your games). We no longer need to carry the image or coins in our pockets; now, value travels across the internet in seconds.
Another thing that caught my attention and surprised me in this research is that in ancient times, to facilitate trade, societies began to use goods that had a value that was, so to speak, agreed upon. For example, it was common to use products like shells, salt, animal hides, or precious metals as a medium of exchange.
That is to say, at some point, the lady at the cafeteria could have given me an arepa if I gave her a handful of salt, and that seems amazing to me. Hehehe

Imagina que tienes mucha hambre y quieres comerte una arepa en el cafetín escolar. La señora que vende no acepta que le des un dibujo que hiciste en clase o un abrazo; ella acepta monedas o billetes. Porque el dinero es el recurso que ella sabe que podrá usar después para comprar harina en el supermercado y hacer las arepas. Es el manera que todos los comerciantes entienden para comprar bienes.
Otras de las historias fascinantes de cómo surgió el dinero te lo ejemplifico de la siguiente forma, vamos a suponer que yo hago unos lindos dibujos de los personajes de Splinterlands y Holozing y la señora de la cantina hace unas ricas arepas de caraota negra con queso pero la señora como no sabe apreciar mi arte no está interesada en mis dibujos. Yo para poder comer sus arepas tengo que darle algo que a ella le interese, que en este caso es el dinero, yo tendría que buscar a alguien que me compre mis dibujos por dinero y yo así pueda comprarle las arepas a la señora del cafetin.
De esta forma surge el dinero cuando hace mucho tiempo se hacían transacciones con diversos objetos o comestibles y ha medida que ha pasado el tiempo ha ido evolucionando este sistema pasando por los siguientes formatos: trueque, dinero de mercancías, monedas acuñadas, dinero fiduciario y por último el dinero electrónico y digital.
A medida que la sociedad ha avanzado también lo ha hecho el dinero.
Antes, el dinero eran cosas que se intercambiaban como granos de cacao o monedas de oro. Después, pasó a ser billetes de papel que podías doblar en tu bolsillo. Pero hoy, el dinero ha evolucionado tanto que ha pasado de ser algo físico a ser algo digital en una tarjeta o en un banco o incluso activos digitales (como los que usas en tus juegos). Ya no necesitamos cargar el dibujo o las monedas en nuestro bolsillo; ahora el valor viaja por internet en segundos.
Otras de las cosas que me llamó mucho la atención y me sorprendió en esta investigación es que en la antigüedad para facilitar el comercio, las sociedades comenzaron a utilizar bienes que tenían un valor por así decirlo consensuado. Por ejemplo, era común utilizar productos como conchas, sal, pieles de animales o metales preciosos como medio de cambio.
Es decir, el algún momento la señora de la cafetería pudo haberme dado una arepa si yo le daba un puñado de sal y eso me parece grandioso. JJeee

The amazing thing is that politicians have always managed to devalue money.

There has always been trade to survive over the millennia, and human greed has ever been present to make one person more wealthy over others. It's an evil we have created and will ever be present and people lust for power and wealth. Would it be nice to have a world where everything is split equally according to need? Yes, however, human nature and greed will never allow that to happen. That's why "socialist" leaders all end up billionaires, the greed factor makes them steal the money and supplies for themselves rather than distribute it to the people.
In the end the free economy and democracy is the best system we've found. And it's far from perfect... Still dictators still abound around the world, it's very sad to see...

I have seen my grandmother in the village buying goods in exchange for other goods, like rice in exchange of wheat or wheat in exchange of rice or some other goods.
