Oops, I did it again - with money: (2)

There are good times, but there are tough ones too:

Good times often make us forget that tough times are inevitable, and that if things are working well for you now, moving on they might not.

That’s at least what happened to me. Just when I started to have more comfort and more purchasing power, I started traveling more, staying in hotels, and thinking life is just an everlasting vacation, which wasn’t a problem except for two reasons:

1 . The opportunity cost: If I didn’t buy what I bought or spend what I spent, and instead invested that money into even the least rewarding investment, how financially secure would I’ve been feeling now.

2 . The second reason is: the startup I was working for was put on an indefinite pause, and I had some unsettled debt. I struggled to find a job that is equally rewarding before the next due date. I failed and everything completely collapsed.

The lesson: Good times are the best times to prepare for the worst in advance!
