Random Christmas

I’ve had the privilege to enjoy many Christmas Celebrations but this one, holds something special.

Lately I’ve been thinking about how fast time flies. One minute you’re starting the a new year with new goals and aspirations and the next you’re wondering how it’s already november and you haven’t even ticked up to half off your list.

It’s so easy to beat yourself up about how much you haven’t achieved but I’ve learnt that life is mostly about being greatful for the little things even as you set goals to achieve better. It’s about finding peace and contentment in every little progress you make and not giving up.

I guess I’ve just learnt to flow with life instead of getting depressed out of frustration. I’ve learnt to find my peace as life goes on slowly. Embrace change as it comes no matter how scary it may seem. Change is uncomfortable but it’s also necessary. Leaving comfort isn’t easy but it’s definitely better than being stuck in a life that feels like you’re in a loop.

Sometimes, I think about people who have drifted in and out of my life. I’m honestly greatful for some ended relationship, because if there’s anything I’m pushing at strongly right now, it’s keeping any negative energy far away. I’m done with tolerating toxicity for the sake of being understanding. Whether it’s platonic or romantic relationships, there’s no room for settling. I’m putting myself first and every other person comes after, until they prove otherwise.

Lately, I’ve been trying to live more intentionally. Pay more attention to myself. To eat when I’m hungry, rest when I’m tired, speak when I’m uncomfortable, and live a healthy lifestyle. Life is not some competition of who did it best, it’s okay to have weird days, lazy days, and a few awkward situations here and there. So I’m giving myself a break.

Regardless of all the challenges life has thrown my way, I’m happy to be here. Looking forward to another December 25th. Spend quality time with family and forgetting about life and her minions for a short while. I’m looking forward to the Holidays.

It’s going to be a good one. This is your reminder to take a break and rest, you’ve worked hard. So don’t let this be another random Christmas. Make it special for you and have a good time. Celebrate yourself above all other things.
