Another thought about AI

AI is definitely going to replace us. We are using it excessively. Far from helping us evolve as a species, AI is setting us back. How is it possible that content on history, math, or grammar is so difficult for the younger generations to retain, compared to my generation?
To achieve certain results, a person needs to be patient. When I was a teenager, I went with a couple of friends to a concert by an artist we loved. As the show was late in starting, I felt desperate. At that moment, one of my friends calmed me down by telling me that on several occasions in life, all we can do is wait.
I took that idea very well, but I'm sure today's teenagers aren't big fans of phrases like that. The instant solutions offered by AI have made us intolerant of patience. I myself have become a little weaker at performing tasks that I used to do without needing a reasoning machine by my side.
However, I refuse to continue impoverishing my brain. So now I balance the pros and cons of using AI. I am also challenging myself every day. I now spend more time reading, I am also working on new projects to improve the quality of the service we provide at work, and I write drafts of my Hive posts in pencil.
We used to write a little more when I was younger. Now we ask ChatGPT to write us an essay about cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and we don't even spend five minutes checking if the sources are reliable. We need to get back to basics.
Limiting the use of AI to very complex tasks is a good idea. Learning about any subject with the help of AI is a good idea. Developing AI to facilitate bureaucratic procedures, break down communication barriers, or make disease diagnosis more accurate is a good idea. What is not a good idea is to continue promoting the use of AI to do all our chores for us, while we lie around all day watching TV series and dying young and sick from diabetes.
If we want to prevent the human brain from regressing, I think we need to be a little more patient and stop being so lazy. The feeling of well-being you get when you do things for yourself is priceless.

The regressing of the human brain and the lack of attention/patience is pre-AI. Started with smartphones, AI just boosted it.

You're right.
That's an interesting point you've made us think about. Well done!
