RE: When your HP is too low for upvotes to matter.

Brilliant post ! A couple of observations...

I think (but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong) since the hard fork a few months ago that your vote value doesn't decrease when your vote power goes down, although many front-ends still seem to show it going down. i.e. if your vote value is $0.004, then it'll stay at that with every vote until you run out of vote power, which regenerates at around 20% a day.

Also, the dust threshold is $0.02 not $0.002. It just means that if your vote value is low, you should vote on posts and comments that others have already put over that threshold - it is cumulative for the post, not per individual vote.

For me, the key thing is to work on building HP as fast as possible. Manual curation is slower than delegating or automated curation, but it gives you the chance to make worthwhile comments. Some of those will get upvotes in their own right, but what also happens is that people will notice you; you'll pick up followers who like what you say, and that'll get your posts more votes, and thus more HP. Also, I tend to convert Tribe Tokens I don't collect into SWAP.HIVE, then periodically turn that back into HIVE and power it up. But BBH is one I definitely do collect 😁 I also collect a couple of others which do regular drips in liquid HIVE.

The dust threshold of $0.02 makes it worse :) When I see upvotes of 0.000 or 0.001 it takes a lot of them to clear dust. I know there is @dustsweeper which can clean things up but that's a bit much for a newbie post ...

As for increasing HP asap I absolutely agree but when I saw she had 50HP and the upvote value was 0.000 my thought was--find a way that you can show appreciation which avoids the dust trap and give immediate valuation. BBH seems to do that.

As for manual curation. Yes it is slower. Absolutely. But manual curation with 0.000 doesn't get noticed that much. I would guess that manual curation along with a comment and a BBH tip would get you noticed. As you mention, getting noticed leads to upvotes for your posts and advancing on HIVE to be certain.

Regarding Tribe tokens you don't collect. I do the absolute same thing. However, I do like to see what each tribe token does. Some are garbage and some are awesome. I'll take any help I can get figuring out the difference :)
