Hive Power Up Day - Yay !

avatar

Yes, it's that day again - HPUD !

Here's the screenshot that shows I've done my bit - hopefully I'm up for a decent sized bee this time around, I powered up 250 HIVE, which took me over the 10K Hive Power mark. I'm still going to be about 150 years old before I go from Dolphin to Orca, though !

Looking at my overall account and general crypto performance over the last month, it's actually slightly better than I expected, especially considering we had a long week away on holiday, a few days recovering from the food poisoning we caught while were out there, and a couple of other weekends away.

My total earnings of HIVE and HBD were;
138.926 HIVE = £21.20
34.285 HBD = £25.30

Even with the drop in HBD interest rate, this follows the recent pattern where no matter how much I post, my HBD earnings are consistently a little more than my HIVE ones. But with the US dollar dropping in value over the last few months, some of this growth is effectively lost to inflation. It's a shame HBD isn't pegged to the price of gold !

Overall, the price of HIVE seems to have stabilised a bit, although it's been caught up like every other crypto in this evening's drop. That's a natural result of geopolitical events and I expect stocks to fall as well. Gold, of course, is at an ATH. With any luck, it the world settles back to it's normal routine of casual violence rather than endless escalation, then prices should come back up.

In a lot of ways it's frustrating that HIVE is caught up in the same blatant price manipulation that mainstream cryptos like Bitcoin suffer. As a truly decentralised blockchain, HIVE is pretty much ignored or blacklisted by most centralised exchanges. We fail their (unofficial) test by not having someone in charge the US government can sue or imprison. They hate that, and long may it continue !

But what we do need is more Hivers. I think that talking about crypto earnings is a turn-off for most people these days, so I tend to talk to people in terms of Hive being a great place for creative writing and as a social media platform that doesn't jam advertising down your throat at every opportunity.

Having said that, I'm hoping to find time in the next few weeks to set up a second Hive account, but one purely for my business. I'd love to hear feedback from fellow Hivers about whether I'm on the right track with it. The idea is to be truly Web 3.0 with it, so it won't be used for advertising at all - more a case of creating content-type posts that act as a knowledgebase. Then I can then point non-Hive customers at relevant posts when they're looking for information on products, new releases or whatever. Does that sound like a way to use a business account on Hive that would work without people feeling it's too pushy ?

I think your ideas for a business account would be a great way to use and promote Hive - it's using it for everyday business which is what we need!
