A Daily Word in Spanish (457)-Mosca (la)
(Sources: Educalingo, a Pictionary, Wikipedia etc.)
–INICIANDO A Daily Word in Spanish:
Domingo 6 de abril de 2025 / Beginning on Sunday 6 April 2025.
Today is Tuesday 7 July 2026. We are in the word number 457.
This Everyday Word in Spanish is not only useful for Spanish learners, but it's also helpful for English learners as a foreign language.
I hope you are having a great learning day!
–Espero que tengas un excelente día de aprendizaje–
Here we are with another word in Spanish. Now we have the word fly. So, today let's see the word 'Fly'. Do you know how we say 'Fly' in Spanish?
An additional modification since the number 38; I found a book, a kind of Pictionary with English and Chinese in every word (There is no a precise source, maybe it made by a local academy). Then I will follow it and add the Spanish corresponding word. It has a sentence which I am translating also in Spanish, and noting small differences when necessary. Then it has a version in English, Chinese and Spanish. After this pictionary I will put the usual description of the word.

“Mosca” is a clean, useful word choice because it teaches a very common everyday noun: fly = mosca. The example in your image also works well — “Hay una mosca en la sandía” is simple, visual, and easy for learners to remember.
What stands out here is the three-language bridge. Using English, Chinese, and Spanish in one post makes the learning path more concrete, especially for beginners who need more than one anchor. The insect photo also helps because it moves the word from abstract vocabulary into something instantly recognizable.
One small language note: in Spanish, “la mosca” is the normal dictionary form, so your title format “Mosca (la)” is perfectly clear for learners. It reinforces that the noun is feminine, which matters when people start building phrases like la mosca, una mosca, esa mosca.
Your series structure is also doing something smart: repetition with a predictable format lowers friction for learners. That kind of consistency matters more than people think.
For reference on the word itself, Wikipedia covers the common housefly, and Educalingo tracks the Spanish usage of mosca.
I know 'mosquito'
Mosquito is the one taking your blood. Mosca is the one taking your soup 😅: ¡Hay una mosca en la sopa!
