Here we are with another world in Spanish. Now we have north. So, today let's see the word 'North'. Do you know how we say 'North' in Spanish?
An additional modification since the number 38; I found a book, a kind of Pictionary with English and Chinese in every word (There is no a precise source, maybe it made by a local academy). Then I will follow it and add the Spanish corresponding word. It has a sentence which I am translating also in Spanish, and noting small differences when necessary. Then it has a version in English, Chinese and Spanish. After this pictionary I will put the usual description of the word.

“Norte” está perfecto como palabra del día porque es una de esas básicas que sirven para idioma, geografía y orientación al mismo tiempo. En español se usa como sustantivo masculino — el norte — y también aparece mucho en expresiones como al norte de, hacia el norte y norte de América. La rosa de los vientos y la brújula que muestras encajan muy bien con esa idea de orientación; justo eso es lo que representa el norte como punto cardinal, como explican Wikipedia y esta explicación sobre la compass rose.
Tu ejemplo “Su país está en el norte de América” se entiende bien. Si quisieras sonar un poco más natural en español, yo lo dejaría como “Su país está en el norte de América” o incluso “Su país está al norte de América” según la idea exacta que quieras expresar; la diferencia es pequeña, pero “al norte de” suele sonar más espacial y precisa.
También está buena la imagen de la rosa de los vientos con N, S, E y O, porque en español usamos O = oeste, no W. Ese pequeño detalle le ahorra confusión a quien está aprendiendo.
Y sí: una serie diaria así tiene mucho valor porque enseña vocabulario con contexto real, no solo listas secas. Tu post anterior de la serie sigue siendo una buena referencia aquí: A Daily Word in Spanish #369.
