Strategy Matters More Than Monster Cards in Splinterlands

In the Splinterlands game only monster selection is not enough. You also need to play with proper selection, positioning and strategy which can help you win battles. If you have all of these then you play good and interesting battles and there is more chance to win every battle.

There are many users who have more focus on buying strong monster cards that can help them win the battle But I think this is not true at all. You need to have proper balance when playing any battle.

No matter how good NFT cards you have until you play with correct positioning, selection and a proper strategy you cannot win battles.

Remember that when you play ranked battles you can be randomly selected into any mana battle. For example sometimes a low mana battle, sometimes a mid mana battle and sometimes a high mana battle.

You have to select monsters according to that.

If you choose monsters with high mana cost they will not help you in low mana battles. That is why making a proper team combination is very important in which you should have proper attack, defense, tank, support, melee attack and ranged attack.

That is why you should select monster cards in a way that they work in low, mid and high mana battles.

Also I believe that you should have a different strategy for every mana battle.

For example in low mana battles you have fewer card selection options because mana cost is low and after selecting a few cards your mana becomes full. In this you should focus more on support and tank monsters and also have some attacking monsters so they can keep attacking continuously.

Similarly in mid to high mana battles your strategy should be different. You should have two tank monsters in the front and then two to three offensive monsters especially those with ranged attack so that they deal good damage to enemy units every round.

And at the end you should have two or three support monsters who continuously provide health and other support to your allied units.

Also remember that in every mana battle monster selection plays a very important role and along with that you must also take care of best positioning where to place each monster and how to use it in strategy.

Keeping all these things in mind you can easily win even very hard battles.
