Summer in the village comes with its own set of responsibilities. People have gardens, fences, and an endless list of things to fix. Bees have flowers. Mosquitoes have people. And this black rooster seems to have just one job: walking around the yard looking as though he’s in charge of the whole place.
He takes his time. He walks through the grass, stops now and then, and looks into the distance. Perhaps he’s checking the territory. Perhaps he’s thinking about life. Or maybe he’s simply forgotten where he was going. Either way, nobody is in much of a hurry in the village in summer.
Except the mosquitoes.
