A Trap for the Sun

Usually, dramatic clouds are what make a sunset come alive. But when the sky is nothing more than a smooth orange canvas and the sun is the only thing left to watch, you start looking elsewhere for details.

One evening, I found them in a courtyard.

The branches of a tree became an unexpected trap for the setting sun. For a few moments, it seemed caught in their tangled silhouette, reluctant to disappear beyond the horizon. Soon enough, though, all that remained was the lone tree and the last traces of warm light fading into the evening sky.

Bar, Montenegro.
