Christmas DIY: Personalizing containers with style!!! (Esp/Eng)
Hola, ¿qué tal?..
Tengo tiempo sin estar por este medio, pero antes de que se hagan más de las fechas de enero/febrero me gustaría compartir parte de lo que fue mi trabajo en el mes de diciembre, el cual fue bastante ocupado.
I haven't been here in a while, but before we get too far into January/February, I'd like to share some of what I did in December, which was quite a busy month.
Las festividades en Venezuela son parte importante de lo que son las familias en este país y por eso cada persona trata de tener lo que sea más único y especial.
Holidays in Venezuela are an important part of family life in this country, which is why everyone tries to make them as unique and special as possible.
Como ustedes saben mi trabajo es netamente manualidades y en esta ocasión me gustaría mostrarles un poco de lo que fue una idea que me presentó una clienta; ella quería para su cena navideña unos vasos personalizados con los nombres de las personas que asistirían y por supuesto con motivo navideño.
As you know, my work is purely crafts, and on this occasion I would like to show you a little bit of an idea that a client presented to me; she wanted personalized glasses for her Christmas dinner with the names of the people who would be attending and, of course, with a Christmas theme.
La manera que encontró esta clienta para poder ahorrar un poco más de dinero a la hora de hacer este pedido fue no comprar copas, sino reciclar envases de cristal de mayonesa que les voy a mostrar a continuación.
The way this customer found to save a little more money when placing this order was not to buy cups, but to recycle glass mayonnaise jars, which I will show you below.
Luego me los trajo para que yo los personalizara con su idea, a mí me parece que esta es una manera muy inteligente para poder ahorrar y que se vea bonito y creativo.
Then he brought them to me so I could personalize them with his idea. I think this is a very smart way to save money and make them look nice and creative.
En total fueron 25 envases de vidrio que debía personalizar con los nombres de los familiares que iban a asistir a su cena.
In total, there were 25 glass containers that I had to personalize with the names of the family members who were going to attend his dinner.

Así quería mi clienta su diseño: This is how my client wanted her design:
Quería resaltar la inicial del nombre de la persona, y que por encima de esa letra estuviera el nombre completo para lograr diferenciarlos.
I wanted to highlight the initial of the person's name, and have the full name above that letter to differentiate them.
Quiso agregar un gorro navideño, acompañado de decoraciones de estrellas y copos de nieve a su alrededor.
He wanted to add a Christmas hat, accompanied by star and snowflake decorations around it.

Realice los diseños en la (Silhouette cameo 4) ya les he mostrado mis trabajos utilizando esta espectacular herramienta de diseño y plóter de corte; sé las súper recomiendo.
Create your designs on the Silhouette Cameo 4. I've already shown you my work using this amazing design tool and cutting plotter; I highly recommend it.
Luego de tener los diseño terminados, envíe a cortar por partes mi diseño; es decir, dividí todo el diseño en lo que iba de color rojo, color blanco y color negro, para así llevar un orden.
Once the designs were finished, I sent them to be cut into pieces; that is, I divided the entire design into red, white, and black sections to keep everything organized.
Nota: Recuerden usar las especificaciones necesarias para su tipo de material, así evitan perder insumos y por su puesto tiempo.
Note: Remember to use the specifications required for your type of material to avoid wasting supplies and, of course, time.
El material que use en este proyecto fue vinilo adhesivo de diferentes colores, utilizando una técnica de capas como pueden observar en la parte del gorro navideño.
The material I used in this project was adhesive vinyl in different colors, using a layering technique as you can see on the Christmas hat.
En el mismo utilicé una capa de fondo de color negro, luego coloqué las partes rojas del gorro y por último la parte blanca para darle una especie de relieve y que el gorro se pudiera visualizar de una forma mucho mejor.
I used a black background layer, then added the red parts of the hat and finally the white part to give it a kind of relief so that the hat could be seen much better.
Como pueden observar así quedó el resultado final, para mí esto es una manera muy fácil de poder hacer algo especial de manera sencilla; recuerden no limitar su potencial de creación.
As you can see, this was the final result. For me, this is a very easy way to do something special in a simple way. Remember not to limit your creative potential.
