Lost in the Rain | Graphite Pencil Figuration

Hello Hive community! 🎨
Today I want to share a piece that explores the human figure and atmosphere using only graphite pencils. There is something deeply poetic about a rainy day, and I wanted to capture that feeling of solitude and reflection through this drawing.
The Concept
The drawing features a girl from behind, holding an umbrella. By hiding the face, the focus shifts entirely to the silhouette, the texture of the clothes, and the reflection on the wet ground. I wanted the viewer to feel the dampness of the air and the quietness of the moment.
Technical Details
Working with graphite allows for a rich range of values. For this piece:
Deep Contrast: I used softer pencils (like 4B and 6B) to achieve the intense blacks on the umbrella and the hair.
Textures: I focused on the folds of the skirt to give the figure movement.
The Reflection: This was my favorite part to draw—using horizontal strokes to simulate the water on the pavement reflecting the figure.
Thank you all for your support! ❤️
