Needle work Monday: New week with a new skill of stitching abaya.

Last week is really outstanding and pleasing for me and memories of which are nostalgic and imprinted on my soul. My last week was off and after exams i was completely free and i went to my home after 2 months from hostel and i tried many creative things to enhance my skills. My mother is a renowned tailer and during my holidays i mastered skill of abaya stitching and cutting.

I am writing in this community after a long time because i never done a project that was satisfying for this community. I have been trying for a long time and eventually i done it and thanks to my mother that i am able to complete such a difficult project and now i am going to post it in this community. All pictures are clicked by myself in my own phone.
I was in the hostel for a long time and i was longing for sun. It was my great wish to see sunrise and sunset and enjoy sunshine whole day. I wished for sun bath and instead of wearing sweaters and sitting near Heather sitting under open sky and enjoy my freedon from frustrating and suffocated environment of hostel and most importantly of city.
I used to live in a village in Kashmir so the air there is very fresh. We cook food in hand made stoves, vegetables and fruits grow in our own gardens. For meat we keep chickens as pets so the food is very clean and healthy as compared to city.
And then i moved to hostel in Islamabad. Air is full of fog and noice of vehicles. Days pass like seconds and nothing is natural so last week is very special for me. And the reason i mentioned environment of my village and all background of sun is that this very reason motivated me to stitch abaya.
While sitting under sky, bright day in my garden i decided to stich that abaya. Now its the time for process and pictures for cutting and stitching abaya.
Cutting was pretty difficult for me because it was my first time and the most complicated task. It took almost one hour to complete it appropriately. So the very step in this task is to cut the abaya in the perfect shape appropriate for the style you choose to stitch. As we all know there are various designs of abayas and everyone has its own stitching method and Cutting patterns.
So for my abaya below was the pattern.

Then in sticking abaya the very first part i make is neckline both front and back line. Below is the picture.

Then for pucker in the ghaon i loosely make a line of stitches and then contract it keenly and delicately to avoid breakdown of thread.

Then i did fitting done and then i stitch front of the gown. In very last step i stitch sleeves and in their i used rubber to make furrow then i attached them with the abaya.

After all that steps finally my abaya is completed.

i stitched that for my university. I also learning how to crochet from my sister. She told me that it's a great hobby and way to avoid boredom and relax our minds from hectic and frustrating schedules.
Currently i am busy in one more task. I am going to stitch another abaya and then surely i will share that with you people.
