Resident Evil: Zero [Let's Play] - 07 - Law of Jungle
The puzzle where you have to light candles by the order of which animal is the strongest was fun to figure out without a guide. Made me feel smart... Too bad the transitions made it way too slow.
Resident Evil: Zero is a prequel to the Resident Evil series set right before the mansion incident. The game follows the new STARS member Rebecca and the wanted criminal Billy as they try to survive zombie outbreak! RE0 features a Dual Protagonists system letting the player switch seamlessly between Rebecca and Billy. Most puzzles require coordination between the two characters.

I played RE trilogy for the PS1 when I was younger and the first Remake for a bit... But this is the first time I play Zero. As I played, I was surprised at how much this game adds to the lore, especially for Umbrella Corp. while still doing its own thing. There are fewer zombies in this game, instead there's a lot of Leeches and feral animals.
While I'd recommend this game to Resident Evil fans, I'm not too fond of how slow the game feels. Too much backtracking. Some Puzzles feel like too much filler, but I loved a few puzzles in my playthrough. I used a guide when I got stuck though... You can watch my playthrough below:

I wonder what that game does behind the scenes while the animation for passing through a doorway or walking through a stairway does. 🤔 While that does !INDEED add well to the (creepy) atmosphere, they seem to take long (more or less 5 seconds). 😅 !LOLZ
Probably loads the next areas assets... And yeah, it does a lot to the atmosphere!
Given that PCs and gaming consoles nowadays are very powerful (compared to when the first #ResidentEvil games were released), it definitely won't take about 5 seconds for the next area to load. 🤔🤯
@savvyplayer is strongly leaning towards the "adding to the atmosphere" reason! 😆😅
Well, this game was originally made for GameCube, so the loading thing was probably the real reason originally...
@savvyplayer remembers on such #ResidentEvil games that zombies or other hostile creatures occasionally appear right on those door opening scenes, which turned the creepy atmosphere into outright suspense. 🤔🤯😆 !WEIRD !LOLZ
It's one of my favorite games in my favorite series :3
