Let's Play "Kowloon's Curse: Lost Report" (Part 4 of 4) - Mutual Murder
Kowloon's Curse: Lost Report is a Free prequel to the team's upcoming Kowloon's Curse It's a low-poly dungeon crawler, full of surreal and creepy vibes. Apparently, it's based on Kowloon Walled City.
The game follows an unnamed protagonist who's doing shady jobs with his friend Sergio in the Lawless city of Kowloon. Their work is mainly about doing shady tasks for someone named the inspector. Two people struggling to survive, and supernatural things happen.
"To you, it may seem as If divine powers have given you a second chance. To me is a declaration of war. Things happened the way did they because they're supposed to. As unfortunate as that may be for some, its ultimately for the good of the rest of this world. " -- Kowloon
The game plays a typical dungeon crawler with infrequent Turn-based combat. Most of the time, we explore areas and talk to people. The city's vibes are so weird that I don't know if most of the characters we meet are human."
One thing for sure, nothing is the way it looks like in the game. In that regard, Kowloon's Curse's low-poly graphics work in its favor!

Sergio tried to kill the main character, and so he as forced to kill him in self-defense. After that, he was summoned by The Inspector and got detained. Apparently he was killed and his body parts were sold, but he didn't get to see that. He fell back to dream and found himself back at the start of the same day again...
So, we did what a normal person would do in that situation: Tell our friend Sergio that we saw today in a dream: The job has gone bad, and we were both killed!
So, Sergio and my player character decide to Not do that this time around.

We repeat the same events of that day, but when Sergio tries to kill the man, the player characters had flashbacks to the first loop, and screamed at him "Don't shoot!"
The two manage to get the briefcase and send it to The Inspector but the player characer loses conciousness and goes to the Dream world. He sees Amane who tells him that "He must save Sergio!" And gives him a Ticket to the Mahjong place.
Of course, the Mahjong job ends terribly... And Sergio flips out, (again,) and kills the main character. At least the main character isn't the one who did the killing this time around...
We found ourselves in the dream world again...
And found someone named "Kowloon" who tells us that someone is sending us back in time, and that they're not doing it to save Sergio. They're messing up with the 'correct' timeline, and saving Sergio will make bad things happen...
That's ominous...
In the dream world, the player character finds a dream version of Sergio and has a heart-to-heart talk with him that ends in a fight!!

Then we go back to moments before Sergio shoots us! We convince him to not shoot the enemy and reach a compromise... We finally do the job the way The Inspector intended...
The inspector summons us one last time, and tells us about a Time Manipulating entity before telling us to wait for the next job. That's where the story ends.
I wonder if this "next job" is what the full game will follow, but it's been years since the last update about the full game, and this tiny prequel works as its own story.
