Digimon Survive is a Digimon Visual Novel with Turn-based strategy battles. It follows a group of children stranded in another world. They form bonds with the creators there called Digimon as they desperate attempts to find a way back home. I already finished one route of the game, and now I'm publishing my playthrough of the Truthful Route!

Digimon Survive is the darkest piece of Digimon media I ever consumed while still being PG13. What I love the most about Digimon Survive, is how it uniquely blends Digital Monsters with Japanese folklore. It's amazing how the idea of "child sacrifice" integrates seamlessly with Digimon lore. The specific Digimon they choose for this game enhance this theme.

Digimon Survive is the closest modern entry to the old school Digimon anime vibes. Though, more than the earlier Digimon anime series, the game reminds me more of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor series. In that series too, characters may die depending on your actions.

Truthful Route - 15: The Old House Battle

I love this part of the story and it was one of my highlights when I played the Harmonious Route. The professor meets with Haru in one of the old houses. A house that happen to have an old photograph of Haru and Miyuki... To the professor, this meeting shouldn't be possible. (Now I know why, because Haru is not Haru.)

After the encounter, they find Garurumon threatening Miyuki. I don't think he wanted to harm her, but he did get the reaction he wanted of the kids! Arukenimon is there to spread mischef too. This chapter is a fun mess!!
