Arctic Eggs [Let's Play] - 01 - Cooking in Freezing Lands
Arctic Eggs is a somber atmospheric game where you play as the chef of a dystopian street block. As punishment for attempting to escape, the ruler removed all your functions except for walking and cooking. You're with cooking eggs (and other stuff) for the hungry people around, and maybe you'll get to meet the ruler, after all.
This game is so unique. It's not a horror game, but feels like it. The setting is intriguing with most characters being depressed, talking about philosophical nonsense, or just hungry...
Throughout the conversations you learn more about the world this game takes place in: Apparently, the earth's climate is undergoing major changes, and there's a war currently happening. The area we're in feels like the Vaults of Fallout games.
You know the people there are screwed when some of them ask you to FRY CIGARETTES for them!
Gamplay-wise: Controlling the frying pan isn't easy, even at the easiest difficulty. You'll watch me fail again and again trying to flip eggs, but it's always satisfying when I succeed. Arctic Eggs did an amazing job at making each sub-area feel unique: One area focuses on fish. Another on drinks. Another on Ice Cubes. There's even an area where you cook for a Dolphin!
