You sent me down a rabbit hole. You might have taken a page out of my family's history. Farm family photo looks like one I have of my paternal grandfather and a few of his children. Everybody worked, and families had a lot children so they could do the work.
Looked up the history of Dublin. The city is not that old...1810. Could be the history of anyplace USA. Heart of the country.

Old is kind of a relative term when it comes to stuff in the US. At least in my opinion. I've only become familiar with the town in the past fifteen years or so. A lot of Columbus is surrounded by farms, it's not too hard to be in the middle of the city, then drive five minutes and be out in the middle of farm country.
