My humble opinion on gender equality

Greetings 👋 #hiveghana community, interesting #prompt you got for us this week.

Let me discuss gender equality first, and then the other topics later.

Just this afternoon I stumbled on a video that shows how women are suffering in a particular country because they are seen as a useless gender that can't help society, and this is not just affecting the women but it's affecting the whole country.

Growing up I noticed that in my hometown female child doesn't get the same training as men because parents believe that the girl child can not fulfill same role as the male child, parents were disappointed when they finally see a few of the female child take care of their parents more than the so called men and this brought about a great change in the community.

Parents now give the same training to both sexes, and when they grow up the help in taking care of the house responsibilities.

Some people misunderstand or have different definitions to gender equality, to me it means that both man and woman can play same role in taking responsibility and accountability if they can do say, I am not saying that a woman can be same as a man but in a family of husband and wife are well doing, they both will work out their financial freedom and it will be more easier than when it's just the man.

For example, if a woman has the resources to pay for the bills she can go ahead and make the payment, but that doesn't mean that she's now the head of the family.

I support gender equality because I have seen that it helps not just the family but the community and country, some projects that have benefited the poor masses in some rural areas were carried out by women who attended good education and are well off.
Some families are very rich today because the wife who is educated secured a well-paying job and gradually established herself and they became rich people in society.

Sadly most communities that still believe that training a girl child is a waste of funds are badly affected by such decisions, they end up bringing up liabilities as wives and their men keep suffering because they have too many responsibilities to care for.

In summary I believe that what a man can do a woman can also do it if she gets a better training or opportunity in life so I will advise parents to bring up their children in a way that will be benefit them, the government should also appreciate and assist female child who are already to learn a skill or working hard to help the society not minding their gender.
