Holidays didn't help to reach my Hive goals...
After my two weeks of holidays, the first of August is here already. Being away for half of the month really didn't help to grow my hive account. But then, we also need to enjoy life. I hardly logged into Hive while I was on holidays...
Whenever the month starts, I try to look at my progression and where I stand in respect to the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the year. For 2025, I set two goals. One is to reach 80'000 HP and the other to have 16'000 HBD in my savings account.
My benchmark
I split the year in days and try to figure out what percentage of the year has passed since I set the goals. This percentage is my benchmark that shows me where I stand. So far, 58% of the year have passed and to be on target, I should have reached 58% of my goal by today.

The picture hasn't changed since the beginning of the year. While I'm well ahead regarding my HP goals, I'm terribly behind my HBD goals.
Post creation was abysmal in July
My target is to create between 8 and 10 posts per month but in July, I only created 3 posts which is probably a new negative record. If I want to have a chance to reach my HBD goals, I will need to be a bit more productive.
What I'm working on
After surfing through the incredible options that are offered by AI, I calmed my efforts a bit. AI is great. When I discovered something new, I went into it as in a kind of rabit hole and on the way I forgot why I researched it in the first place. I lost of time for things that didn't really bring me forward. I will need to have a more efficient way to discover AI things in the future...

That is some pretty great progress on the HP side!!! Amazing, and eager to reach those levels as well ;-)
As for the HBD, just as amazing numbers, but indeed, the increase does lag behind quite a bit... But wouldn't you be able to almost reach your goal by just letting the interest compound?

I actually pull out the HBD interests and purchase books with it. It's true that if I left them it would be quite easy to reach the goal.
P.S: voted for your Hive witness. I don't have any WB that are not delegated for voting for my personal account for HE.
Well, I can't but totally agree that pulling the HBD out and buying books from it is an amazingly great idea!!! I would definitely do something similar (we have a room filled with books here in our house, and we all love reading!)

At least you are having fun on Holiday, it does matter a lot for you and the family.
Things on Hive can wait a little bit, and more push from you, I mean with lots of post per month, I think those goal could be achieved by the the end of the year.

In the past I went on holidays and did all the work from there. With age, holidays become more important and I don't want to work there anymore :-)

The part on getting lost on the why when discovering something new is very relatable lol. Perhaps, you could find a way to keep reminding yourself of the why whenever you go for explorations :)
I definitely need a better approach for that. I manage to lose so much time...
It's rough sometimes, but I hope you are able to make more posts this month to make up for what you missed out last month.
