Uniqueness In Every Culture.

I’m very heavy on dressing and talking about my culture, one main thing I love is the mode of dressing. I’m from Nigeria and Oyo State to be precise. One particular thing that makes us unique is the way we dress.

There is something called Owambe party. The gele with the beautiful Iro and buba which we put on is enough to make me love my culture. What makes it unique? It’s the food. If we begin to list top three foods in Nigeria, Amala will surely be one of them and that is the major food we eat in the Yoruba tribe.

I’m a party freak and that’s one of the reasons why I love my culture. Well, I love parties a lot but that doesn’t mean I will spend all the money I have on parties. In the Yoruba tribe or culture, there are so many big parties or festivals that are done and there is no one you won’t fall in love with the culture.
Events or parties like Ojude Oba, Ilorin Dubar, Osun osogbo festival and so much more. The activities and mode of dressing makes me fall in love with my culture over and over again.

A great feature of the Yoruba culture is respect. This doesn’t mean that a child has to respect the elderly ones one. Anyone can respect anyone as long as you are in position to be respected.

Do you know one culture which I would love to practice? It is still an act in the Yoruba culture which requests that pregnant women must attach pin to their clothes.
That can be very funny but do you know why I wish to try it out? It’s because I honestly cannot wait to get married and experience motherhood. Most times, even when the stomach of a pregnant woman isn’t big yet, seeing a safety pin is enough to tell us that they are pregnant.

I can’t wait to experience this and put it into practice. I believe that every culture is good and they all have their ups and downs. It is left to us to embrace our cultures and make the best out of it.

Owambe parties ,I really enjoyed that during my stay in Lagos,.., Amala, and the vibrant iro and buba make the culture so lively and beautiful. I also found the safety pin tradition for pregnant women quite interesting, it’s such a unique cultural touch
