Domestic Violence || MCGI Topic Review.
Before talking about domestic violence in marriages, let’s talk about violence itself. Violence can be described as an act of physical harm which is condemned by God.
Ever since I have been hearing about our Lord, Jesus Christ, it is not written anywhere that Jesus is violent or he had a fight with someone.
He could have had a fight with Satan when Satan tempted him but instead of doing that, he simply walked away and said in Deuteronomy 6:13 which says; Be gone, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve him only
When you are angry, it is always better to walk away. It is always better to stay away from anything that will lead to physical fight.
Some men or women don’t know how to walk away and this is what causes physical fight or conflict in the house. And once they do that, it means they have allowed Satan in their home.
Ephesians 5:28 says; So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Until you know how to love your woman like this, do not get married. For women too, if you do not know how to love your man this much, do not get married. Marriage means that you are bound together.
Then, it is known that you can’t hurt what you love. If you love someone as much as you love yourself, you will never hurt the person. This is just the honest truth.
In marriage, quarrels are meant to happen but we should never let it get to the point of fighting and leaving bruises behind.
God doesn’t want that.
Domestic violence is not allowed in the Bible and we should try not to be a part of it. Most importantly, we should love our neighbors by ourselves.
When we have the love of God in us it constraints us from certain acts of the flesh
