Amaka’s Wedding Fabric.
Amaka only planned a small wedding ceremony but the with the hype of her friends, her wedding ceremony became the talk of the town.
Not only the King of Abraka will be coming for the wedding ceremony but her two friends in the United Kingdom, Francisca and Lesley.
The Aso Ebi fabric for the bridesmaid is set, that for the groomsmen and the general fabric for everyone is complete already.
Since Amaka got a call that Francisca and Lesley will be coming down to Nigeria for her wedding ceremony, they will have to buy more fabric for two extra bridesmaids.
You’re the bride and it won’t make sense for you to go get the fabric so you won’t look stressed on your wedding day. Let Desire and I go to the market to get the cloth, Chinenye, the most outspoken out of their friends said. Just like her friends say all the time, Chinenye is too forward.
Most girls don’t like Chinenye because she wants to be everywhere and wants to do everything. Chinenye is that lady who wants to participate in everything and has never gotten tired of Amaka’s wedding ceremony preparation.
Chinenye, do you even know the color of the fabric before asking us to go to the market?, Desire asked because she never liked the idea of going to the market with Chinenye.
Since Chinenye claims to know the color of the fabric, Desire agreed to go with Chinenye to the the market to get the fabric.
After three days, Chinenye and Desire took to Oshodi market in Lagos to get the fabric and some other things that the bride may be needing for the wedding ceremony. They got to Amila’s clothing, the most popular fabric store in Oshodi.
Hello, do you have dark purple fabric?, Chinenye asked while she goes further to check some other things that the bride will be needing.
Chinenye, are you sure it is dark purple? That color is navy blue because I was here with Toby the last time we came to buy those fabrics. They are just two colors that look alike, Desire asked while she brings out her phone to look closely at the picture of the fabric wanting to prove that it is navy blue and not dark purple.
I checked this thing well before we left the house. It is dark purple and I even browsed the color before coming here so I’m right. You know I barely make mistakes so let me handle this this since I volunteered to come to the market, Chinenye is so quick to raise her voice. There’s nothing more that we can expect from someone who wants to witness everything.
So as to prevent further arguments, Desire kept quiet and allowed Chinenye to buy her preferred color.
Nothing can be compared to how much Desire was boiling. All she wanted at that moment was to get home and bring out the fabrics they have gotten previously to be sure of the color.
The forty-five minutes trip was getting longer than expected. That moment, forty-five minutes felt like two hours to Desire.
The only word she wanted to say to Chinenye was, you’re wrong.
Finally, they got home. Desire had to ignore the fact that she was thirsty. She rushed into the room, opened her wardrobe and brought out the previous fabric. Before going to the living room to prove Chinenye wrong, she checked the color carefully and after finding out that she was right, she went back to the living room to prove Chinenye wrong.
You see? I told you it is navy blue but you kept arguing. Now, you have made us waste about two hundred thousand Naira. What do we do about the fabric?, Chinenye was dumbfounded looking at Desire say those words at her.
Chinenye who’s always right was surprised to see herself wrong this time.
She took the two fabrics and compared them with each other but Desire was right. Then, she knew she was wrong and started regretting being forward.
What do I tell Amaka? What do you suggest that we do, now, Chinenye was ready to obey whatever Desire said at that moment.
Desire, a fast thinker, dialed the number on their branded nylon and made the complaint.
That’s not a problem. You can bring back the fabric in exchange for the color you want as long as you have the receipt, those words made Chinenye feel relieved.
Waiting for the next market day may be too long. She went back to Oshodi to return the fabric. Luckily, they were about to close their store but they attended to her and finally, Chinenye was able to exchange the dark purple fabric to navy blue.
They had a wonderful wedding ceremony.
In most wedding preparations, excitement and chaos often go together. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end, and Amaka’s wedding turned out beautifully. A beautiful read!
Yes ohhh
All thanks to Desire
Good one illustrating a native wedding background. Good to see and sound to hear the weeding goes as planned.
This is why it is good to team work in such and most settings.
That is why yelling is not a best way to prove a point in such and most settings.
Desire to resolve chinenye's conflict.
Greetings.
Desire is kind
If I was the one, I won’t help out

These are some of the stress one passes through when planning a wedding. You showed the chaos, disagreements, and pressure nicely in your story.
