I want to start by wishing you a happy 2026. I hope this will be a great year for everyone.

There's something I'd like to share with you in this first post of the year in the community. I was talking about it with my kids last night. I'm referring to the need to learn to clearly choose who we want to be in life.

It's not about knowing what we want to be; that's part of what we will be. It's about defining your ideals, your best version as a human being.

This is the first and most important step. Without that clear decision, all subsequent actions lack direction. Many people give in to social pressure, whether from parents, friends, or society, almost always out of fear.

The fear of disappointing others, of being alone, of not fitting in. They end up becoming what others have decided for them.

Then they justify who they are by what they do, and it should always be the other way around: what you do should flow from who you have decided to be. The result of not doing so is an incoherent and incomplete life, where you feel constant frustration because you are not living your own truth.

Only after knowing who you want to be can you do everything necessary to achieve it. Clarity about your character, your core values, and your ethical principles becomes your compass.

Every decision, big or small, is filtered through that question: Does this bring me closer to or further from the person I've chosen to be? This compass will prevent you from wasting years on paths that aren't right for you.

By being able to decide who you want to be, you become the author of your life and not a puppet of others. You take control of the narrative.

This is the foundation of all real achievement. You will never be happier than when you reach your goals and dreams, because those successes will be an authentic reflection of who you are.

True satisfaction doesn't come from external recognition, but from inner coherence, from looking in the mirror and seeing the person you bravely decided to become.

The new year is a good time to make that decision, not as a vague wish, but as a firm and conscious choice.

Start there. Everything else will follow.

Quiero comenzar deseándoles un feliz año 2026. Tengo la esperanza de que este será un gran año para todos.

Hay algo que quisiera compartir con ustedes este primer post del año en la comunidad. Lo estuve conversando con mis niños en la noche de ayer. Me refiero a la necesidad de aprender a elegir con claridad quiénes queremos ser en la vida.
No es saber qué queremos ser, eso forma parte de lo que seremos. Se trata de definir tus ideales, tu mejor versión como ser humano.

Este es el primer paso y el más importante. Sin esa decisión clara, todas las acciones posteriores carecen de dirección. Muchas personas se dejan llevar por la presión social, ya sea de padres, amigos o la sociedad, casi siempre por miedo.
El miedo a defraudar, a quedarse solo, a no encajar. Terminan convirtiéndose en lo que otros decidieron por ellos.
Entonces justifican lo que son por aquello que hacen, y debe ser siempre al revés: lo que haces debe fluir de quien has decidido ser. El resultado de no hacerlo es una vida incoherente e incompleta, donde sientes una frustración constante porque no estás viviendo tu propia verdad.

Es que solo después de saber quién quieres ser, es que podrás hacer todo lo que sea necesario para conseguirlo. La claridad sobre tu carácter, tus valores fundamentales y tus principios éticos se convierte en tu brújula.
Cada decisión, grande o pequeña, se filtra a través de esa pregunta: ¿esto me acerca o me aleja de la persona que he elegido ser? Esta brújula te evitará perder años en caminos que no te pertenecen.

Al poder decidir quién quieres ser, te conviertes en el autor de tu vida y no en un títere de otros. Tomas el control de la narrativa.
Esta es la base de todo logro real. Nunca vas a ser más feliz que al alcanzar tus metas y tus sueños, porque esos éxitos serán un reflejo auténtico de quién eres.

La verdadera satisfacción no viene del reconocimiento externo, sino de la coherencia interna, de mirarte al espejo y ver a la persona que un día, con valentía, decidiste construir.
El año nuevo es un buen momento para tomar esa decisión, no como un deseo vago, sino como una elección firme y consciente.
Empieza por ahí. Todo lo demás viene después.
