The fountain of the Antilles / La fuente de la Antillas (eng-esp)

Hello, photography enthusiasts!
This is a work by artist Rita Longa, inspired by a Taino legend.
This fountain is one of the works of art that represents the province of Las Tunas, Cuba.

The sculpture represents the Greater and Lesser Antilles, along with everything that populates their seas.
Such as their rich fauna.

These sculptures represent the countries of the Lesser Antilles, the islands that comprise them, such as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, etc.

It depicts the island of Cuba as a sleeping Indian woman.

The Indian woman's position resembles the shape of the largest island in the Antilles.

I don't know exactly what this part of the sculpture represents. In my opinion, it's the union of our peoples.

Even the surrounding benches have shapes resembling the Taino seats, called "dujo."

Without a doubt, it is a masterpiece of Cuban art.

Hola, amigos de las fotografías.
Esta es una obra realizada por la artista Rita Longa, inspirada en una leyenda taína.
Esta fuente, es una de las obras de arte que representa a la provincia de Las Tunas, en Cuba.

El conjunto de escultura representa a las antillas, mayores y menores, con todo lo que pobla a sus mares.
Como su rica fauna.

Estas esculturas representan a los países de las Antillas menores, las islas que las componen, como Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, etc.

En ella aparece la isla de Cuba representada como una india dormida.
La posición de la india asemeja la forma de la isla mayor de las antillas.

Esta parte la obra escultórica no sé exactamente qué representa. En mi opinión, es la unión de nuestros pueblos.

Incluso, los bancos alrededor tienen estas formas que asemejan la forma de los asientos de los taínos, llamados “dujo”.

Sin dudas, es una obra maestra de la plástica cubana.
