The DEATH of AUTHENTICITY

Is it just me or is everyone looking the same all of a sudden. Like we've been created from the same Pinterest board. Hi Hivers, it's Abeegail again. Welcome to my blog. Suddenly everyone looks the same, I could walk a short distance and see different people in the same outfit, and I can't help but think that we've lost originality, not only in the way we dress but in other ways too.

Before I would desperately asks "is this me or is this what others want me to be" and sometimes I still do. Oftentimes I find myself feeling lost or in a struggle to find who I truly am. It's easy to lose your self in a world where everyone tells you who you should be, what you should do and how you should act. We've often compromised on our identity, our originality, because of trends and what's new. We shrink into the box being like everyone else just to fit in.

For the longest time, I I tried so hard to fit in. I never really understood what it felt like to be part of the big group of friends, people and I didn't really mix. Now I starting to understand that I don't need to fit in, I just need to live life as authentically as I can, to live in my true form. We are so quick to erase our quirks, our identity, our originality for the fear of being judged or embarrassing.

One thing I now realize is there's nothing embarrassing being you, being the most authentic version of yourself. So do that thing even if no one else is. Why deny the world of your amazing self and try to be another. Don't be afraid because being authentic means being alone, doing things on your own. So let people call you crazy, because at the end of the day there's always someone who will understand and "get" you.
