The interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS the third known object from outside our solar system continues to attract significant scientific attention following a series of unusual and unexplained phenomena observed in recent weeks According to sparking renewed curiosity about its origin and composition.

Observations indicate that the comet has recently ejected large quantities of dust and ice toward the Sun — a phenomenon likened to a massive vaporizing fountain that exceeds the outgassing activity typically seen in ordinary comets. A team at the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory confirmed the detection of hydroxyl gas emissions which are produced when water vapor breaks down under solar radiation This discovery strengthens the theory that 3I/ATLAS contains water-ice components similar to those found in comets native to our solar system.

At the same time, reports have surfaced claiming that the comet emitted a signal pattern following the Fibonacci sequence at a frequency of 1420 MHz — often referred to as the “interstellar communication channel” However no official scientific confirmation has been made regarding these claims, which remain highly controversial and unverified due to the lack of direct observational evidence.

Currently, the comet has moved behind the Sun from Earth’s perspective making direct observation difficult until late November NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) continue to monitor it through infrared and ultraviolet sensors aboard their spacecraft hoping to collect more data once the comet returns to visibility.

3I/ATLAS is the third interstellar visitor ever detected, following ʻOumuamua (2017) and 2I/Borisov (2019) Scientists believe its study will shed light on the nature of exoplanetary systems and the evolution of organic matter across the galaxy — making it a unique natural laboratory for examining materials from beyond the solar system.

Recent analyses suggest that the comet is still losing material at an unusually high rate with its icy activity surpassing that of any previously observed interstellar body As for the alleged “intelligent signals” experts emphasize the need for rigorous verification, cautioning against premature conclusions amid the media buzz.

Astronomers expect to resume direct observations once 3I/ATLAS re-emerges from behind the Sun at the end of November That moment is anticipated to reignite scientific debate over the comet’s true nature and origin — a cosmic event that could deepen our understanding of interstellar visitors and the mysteries of deep space.
