Site Visit, Children Of The Sun Trail 25 Mile Bike Ride and PRs, Planning, Scapes, Hike, Thunderstorms - Friday

Yesterday morning the thunderstorms had left a 1/3 of an inch of rain overnight. There had only been .1 when we went to bed. Thankfully the day was to be a bit cooler.

After getting the boys to school I headed out to do a site visit for the irrigation job I have. It will be a bit more interesting setting the sprinklers with the back yard but will be doable.

I then headed to Wandermere and started my ride at the beginning of the Children Of The Sun trail. J and I rode half of it in March but I wanted to ride the whole thing down to the Centennial trail along the Spokane River.

The trail parallels the 395 bypass the whole way and is nicely paved and smooth. This was coming down towards Hillyard.

"Build your money faster than the north-south freeway"... LOL it is a 50+ year project that is not going to be finished for another few years at least...

The trail is not even 10 miles long and I expected the hills to be way worse than they were. This is coming down to the end by the river.

Annnnd the Spokane River. Finally managed to get this ride in.

I wanted more miles so headed east on the Centennial trail and hit Boulder Beach right at 12.5 miles where I turned around for the ride back to the start.

The Centennial trail runs along the Spokane river from the Idaho border down to Nine Mile Falls which is like 25+ miles one way. It is a paved path the whole way.

Rode past Minnehaha climbing area.

Then it was the climb back up the hill. It was a lot easier than I expected and thanks to a tail wind I was hauling ass through Hillyard.

Made it back to my car in pretty good time. Loaded up the bike and headed for home.

Quite stoked I managed PRs on a number of distances!

So many segments!

I had not realized but that was my 7th day/ride in a row... 111 mile week and my 2nd longest weekly distance so far.

After getting home I devoured food then spent time working on the irrigation parts supply list and trying to design the sprinkler layout.

I ended up out in the garden later and got more scapes picked.

Boys got home from school while I was picking and a bit later I went for a wander up the hill to check the fence line.

In the evening I made dinner and we had more thunderstorms come rolling through but the one just spit on us as it broke apart within miles of the farm. Some thunder though that the dog went barking mad about. I took a well deserved shower after it had passed.

More rain inbound this morning but will be a couple hours before it hits it looks like. Giro is on now, PDC is on now, everyone else is sleeping in, then this afternoon we are going to Flight 509 as it is closing in a couple weeks, will install the cadence and speed sensors on my mtn bike so I am not swapping between bikes, work in the garden, keep up on the alpaca, and work on the irrigation planning some more.

Nearing halfway to my 2500 miles/4000 K for the year! Just 76 miles left! I should do that in 3 rides at most though next week will be a bit busier so might manage it.

I don't have premium but have been thinking I should. I have found apps to add to my Edge that give me more data. Mybiketraffic, battery powers, and bikemighty fueling. MOR METRICS! Lol

Like I always say, exercise and focus give you loads of energy. Well done on hitting your mileage goals! It rains here every day too. I’d love to say it’s cool, but sadly it’s not.

But hey, we’ve got an awesome full moon!
