Irrigation Installation Day, Sore Beyond Words - Monday
Holy shit was yesterday rough on my body! After getting the boys to school I loaded up the car and headed to my client's to install the irrigation system. I fell back into the install groove pretty fast and remembered the proper process. I got started at 8am by uncoiling the first roll of poly pipe along the trench, cut a bit long on each section. Then I dropped the fittings and sprinklers where they were to go.

Then I went around and connected all the lines and the flex pipe before beginning to backfill.

By noon I had all 9 rotors installed, most all the lines buried, and the ends stubbed up where the valve box will go.

With the front lines in I had to run the 2 lines to the backyard.

Then I got the backyard laid out and gradually got it all connected. I was plugging along pretty well but my body was getting more and more sore. SO MUCH BENDING, KNEELING, GRIPPING, STANDING....

It was like having a 7 hour HIIT session as I was trying to get as much done as possible with the storm inbound.

By 3:30pm I had the backyard done so the only thing left is the valves, valve box, controller, and tying into the house water for today. My back was destroyed as well as my hips. My shoulders were torched from squeezing the poly clamps so many times.
I have to finish back filling the one trench leading to the valve box today as I needed the lines still available to see which is which zone.

I actually got more done than I had expected but as much as I had hoped. By then the clouds and storm had started to move in and the winds picked up which tossed a lot of dust and dirt at my face. I was so sore and completely worked from the day and was VERY happy to be headed for home.

I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening holding the couch down trying to let my hips, back, and shoulders get some cushioned relaxation. My shower felt good but my sleep was shit as I woke to pain constantly despite the muscle relaxer.

Today I have my session after I get the boys to school for their last full day as tomorrow is their last day, then I will head back to finish the install today. It rained overnight and more is on the way which I hope speeds past while I am in my session so I can work without getting drenched. I may bring a popup canopy with so I could have a dry place to work on the valves/box.
SIV starts Friday which hopefully this weather doesn't mess with.
